What is "a Retrofit" wire Installation?
The term "Retrofit" means Installing or providing a component or feature in a home that was not fitted, wired or installed during the original construction phases.
Retrofitting a home with wires for home automation technology can become expensive.
For example, when interior walls are down during a new construction Pre-wire, the charge to run a single speaker wire is $80.00.
BUT... During a Retrofit Installation of that same speaker we usually have to crawl through hot attics and cut/repair drywall where needed. This causes the average Retrofit wire to cost around $175 to run (including all wire, labor, terminations and wall plates.
We have the technology. We can make it better… more efficient.
